As a family listening to music while prepping dinner or before bedtime is a wonderful source of meaningful connection.  C H E C K   O U T the Grand Emporium in San Pedro with your little ones for a one of a kind adventure. They specialize in a curated collection of memorabilia that will wow children and adults alike. The owner and his wife have worked together to build this shop.  Also, if you have any great records, or books that you would like to trade or sell they are extremely helpful.  This is a great way to introduce great music to children...they can listen to instrumental music while working on their homework.  They can trade an album, work on their math skills at checkout, and develop a greater appreciation for their community.

P M Sounds

P M Sounds is in the heart of San Pedro on 6th street.  This record shop specializes in a great jazz selection.  When walking into this shop the owner greeted me and asked what I was interested in.  We talked about Ella Fitzgerald’s “Porgy & Bess” with Luis Armstrong along with other great musical finds. This shop just makes you feel like home & has fun memorabilia children will enjoy.

J D C Records

J D C Record Store has an epic rock collection that would be fun to explore with your littles.  Their vibe is a friendly browsing space where the music’s always spinning.  When I visited, they were playing a Strokes album that took me back.  Also, there’s a cassette tape section.  The children will ask, “WHAT ARE THESE?” You can take a trip down memory lane with an audio history lesson.
