The Final Countdown-April Activities!

The Final Countdown-April Activities!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Blast Off!

We are exploring all about outer space.  We are learning chants which help with listening and repeating rhythms. During class we are clapping with simple body movements to express and explore rhythms.  Through song we are discovering a bit about each of the planets.  We are talking about who astronauts are and what they do in their field. We have learned all about:

  • Rhythmic Exploration: Repeating Chants with rhythmic awareness

  • Repeating the Solfege (Do-Re-Mi): Adding the challenge of singing to"Sol"

  • Encouraging Opportunities: Chances to notice and cheer on others success in class

  • Creating their own intervals with various instruments; such as, xylophone or piano

Play fun games through music. Try the "letter game" which can be done with or without an instrument. This gives toddlers a chance to think about and correlate sounds with letters. Also, at home you can draw letters on the ground and explore a "letter hopscotch" game. Enjoy learning and playing together!!!
